So I haven’t updated for a while. This last few months seems to have been 1 disaster after another in the global playing field. From the horror of the Grenfell tower block fire, to another deluded mooron blowing themselves and others up in Manchester, Kim Jong-Ping-Pong (or what ever the name of the one-with-the-hair is in North Korea) playing with fireworks, as well as the Tories being voted back into power. All in all – there hasn’t been anything to smile about. But now – it’s time to look past the grey, and see life in colour once more.
We are all in control of our own happiness, and the happiness of others too. I am deeply passionate about animals and animal rights, and all animals have the same rights to happiness as any human does. So – I have decided to raise money for a UK charity called FINDING FUREVER HOMES, who are dedicated to helping abandoned and stray dogs. And how am I helping them to continue their work? I am doing 1000 burpees in 1 day. Yep. 1000 burpees *takes deep breath and breaks out into a cold sweat with a mild case of flatulence* in 1 day *dies a little bit inside*. If you don’t know what a burpee is, it’s this…..
…this picture does miss out the description of mental hell that one goes through when doing just 1 of these. (Please note: This is not me in the picture. Blue isn’t my colour….). As a Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer, I am lucky enough to be physically able enough to perform a challenge such as this. It is no simple task however. I will be training to prepare for it over the next 4 months on the run up to the big day – 17th November 2017. Happiness is being lucky enough to be in a position to help those in need
A lot of my friends and family have been heavily involved in charity work this year – whether it has been hands on work with those in need, or fundraising events such as marathons and triathlons. It makes me proud to know such people, and to know that people are willing to give up their time to help others. Happiness is knowing you are connected in some way with good people
So how happy are you with your contribution to your community? Could you or would you be willing to donate your time to helping those in need this year? Or next year?
